This text explains how this site works. If you are the site admin, read this text and when you understand it, edit it to remove the notes so that it makes sense for your users.

This site implements a customer relationship management (CRM) tool using the Wikidot page templating and commenting features:

  • Each customer is a page in the customer: category. Customer pages have a certain structure.
  • Each issue is a page in the issue: category. Issues are attached to customers and have a simple workflow.

You will want, for obvious reasons, to make this site private and control who is a member. The permissions are set-up so that any member can create customers and add issues. You may want to fine-tune that if you're a larger organization.

If you want to allow members to configure the site, make them admins. Note that these powers should only be given to people you trust.

Customer management

When you create a new customer, if you put spaces in the name you will get hyphens in the resulting page name. So, "Example Inc." will result in a page called "example-inc".

The template for the new customer shows you a summary at the top, and a table of issues. Replace CUSTNAME in the text with the page name. You may want to save once so that Wikidot creates the page and then edit again.

The summary at the top (the first paragraph) will be shown in the list at the start page.


Contacts and prospection is gathered under a single "Prospection" customer. It's up to you to decide when a relationship is solid enough to create as a "customer".

The Wiki area

The wiki area provides a workspace for temporary work, especially information in raw form. To organize wiki pages we use tags. You can close a wiki page by tagging it _closed. Closed pages won't appear on the wiki area cover page.

Email notifications

By default, all site members will get notified when anything on the site changes. This is ideal for a tight working process.

Sticky and closed issues

To make a 'sticky' issue - one that shows at the top of the list of issues - give it the tag "_sticky".

To close a issue, so that it no longer shows at the top of the list of issues, give it the tag "_closed".
